about

This release is an exercise.

For years the wizard has looked to the past, to avoid retreading steps, to not fall prey to the same heady cocktail of instinct and pride that has cut short the lives and livelihoods of many great wizards.

And did you know? Many practitioners of the Arts encapsulate their memories in orbs laced with formulations of crystal and metal, to clearly revisit those adventures which time would ravage if they remained entrusted only to memory. Many wizards can spend hours reviewing these orbs and be pulled forever into the past, unable to continue their work because the fleeting comforts are sustenance - not especially nutritive, but enough to survive. Any time you see an emaciated husk of a mage, this is likely to be the cause.

The wizard at hand is not immune to egotraps like these.

But the orbs are fragile, and they are prone to failure. After a certain point it is better, after all, to trust memory.

And so the wizard has sought to retell these stories. It's been so long, and there is no way he could possibly remember every detail. Some things make more sense now, but countless others are less clear than ever before. Was the danger really so great? Was the sorrow truly so deep? How can one humble initiate, living in solitude in the woods, have lived so many adventures - in the ice, deep in the forest, beneath the ground, and outside of the realms of the body?

This release is an exercise.
