L. R. Damn this is good, I don't know how I missed this when it came out. It's haunting and beautiful. The whole album really does bring to mind the best SNES soundtracks, but with a much larger tonal landscape of organic sounds.
Great compostition, great production, A+ Favorite track: Geomantic Rites of Frond and Feather.
DANIIEL

DANIIEL There is a pleasant serenity to this album - shades of Nubou Uemetsu. The delicate mix of minimal percussion add to the intimacy of the songs as they weave together to form a pleasant mood. One of the great strengths to them is their lack of agenda: they are simply the quiet musings and unique compositions from a prolific musician. Certainly unique is the use of an actual accordion! It’s a unique style, a “New Wave Chamber Fusion"; the background music to a SNES Final Fantasy you never played. Favorite track: Falling/The Need.

Wandering so far from home to the place where land meets sea I'm no longer what I was See this new topography I've lost my way In this field of comfrey, deeply rooted What can I say To discourage you from your pursuit? I've transcended skin and blood guarded by familiars Shaped a double out of mud alchemy distills her with All that I was Someday feeds the seeds that birds have scattered Grow through the straw In a season harvested for attar Growing now so far from home At the place where sea meets land I'm no longer what I was Roots have now replaced my hands

about

So it was written - once on a square of paper, then rotated, written again. The square was filled to the point of incomprehensibility, and what was written served as a petition - to some saint, some deity, some idea. The square was written in the hope that someone would catch enough of the synchronicity to grab a firm hold of the cycle before it began again.

You've heard this story before. A fearsome premonition in a world too infatuated by power to notice the dangers in it. Small voices of protest, unamplified, unheard. A heroic stand against the forces of greed and corruption...or...well this is where your memory starts to fail. That perhaps should be how this story ends, no?

But perhaps there is no shame in not meeting force with force. Where does your strength lie? The rooted stance must sometimes break. Sometimes you must hide underground, observing the infinite patterns of rock and river and working through them. Shall you die a hero or live forever eroding the rocky face of your enemy, until they are dust just as you are?

Stumble under the unfamiliarity of this new form, then take flight, take root. The lines of rock and river are prepared to see this through. Unless we all are prepared again to cycle through another day, another year, another life-and-death, another more piteous rebirth, another more grueling education - then you as spirit-bird-tree, must find where those lines converge.
